The way you wrote this is unclear. You didn't actually say whether confidence in one's argument indicates higher or lower IQ. You just said it can be used to "assess." That said, in my experience, (and this is purely anecdotal) people who can hold uncertainty, as well as host multiple points of view, exhibit much higher levels of intelligence as they often arrive at more collaborative solutions.
