For the record, Mark, although you are right in suggesting a lot of my ideas about manhood were forced on me in the past, my idea of manhood today is very much my own. As, I hope, yours is for you.

Also, for the record, I believe there is no version of manhood that isn’t valid, traditional or less so. Take your pick. Just don’t pick for me or the millions of men who want to live differently from the dominant version, traditional manhood, being a “real man,” etc.

If every man in the world is allowed to create his own version of manhood, then my issue goes away. For the time being though, that’s just not the case.
